From what I hear, the ExtPart utility will let you do this inside a running VM, but I haven't tested that yet.</description>

		<description>I've found that using Converter to perform a "hot" V2V conversion is a completely reliable way to resize volumes.  It allows for a pretty solid path of retreat.  

In the past I've used diskpart and gparted but found that it can be easy to make a mistake.  The Converter method seems rather bulletproof.</description>
