Helloooo world! As a product marketing manager of technology, things don’t get any better than getting to write a blog like this. An effective product marketing manager should be able to straddle both the technical world and the marketing world, so that positioning, messaging, etc., hits the mark for a very specific technical audience. The problem is, technical audiences typically hate marketing. And all too often, marketeers sit in lofty towers and dream up what they think their target buyer would like to hear (which is probably why technical people hate marketing?). This blog is my chance to get out in the trenches - put myself on the line, talk about marketing ideas, and hopefully get continually blasted to the ground, so I can stay rooted to what is actually meaningful to the people who live and breathe technology.
Tripwire is embarking on exciting 2009, and we’re exploring many new things-new markets, new technologies, and new ways of reaching out to our customers. This blog is the first of many different things to come, and it’s great to be here.
